Players Salary in HBL PSL 9 2024

Pakistan Super League is a more profitable league among the different cricket leagues. The players salary in HBL PSL 9 2024 is far better than the others and players are eager to join this competitive league. In the 9th edition of PSL, a record number of players have been signed for PSL Draft 2024.

The Pakistan Super League is based on a Draft system rather than an Auction system for acquiring the cricketers for their participation in the league. The difference between the drafting system and the auction system is that there is no salary cap in the auction system but there is a fixed salary cap in the drafting system for cricketers in each of the six categories. The salary cap in the drafting system is determined by the hosting board i.e., the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) which is compulsory for all the PSL franchises to follow for acquiring national and international cricketers.

The players salary in HBL PSL 9 2024 for each category is as under:

• The most expensive category in the HBL Pakistan Super League is the Platinum Category where the range of player’s salary cap is 1,30,000 USD to 1,70,000 USD which is nearly PKR. 05 Crore if paid in its high range. Each of the franchises must have 03 players in this category with at least one national and one international player.
• The Diamond Category is the second most expensive category in the Pakistan Super League where the salary cap range is 60,000 USD to 85,000 USD which is nearly PKR. 2.5 Crore if paid in its high range. Each of the PSL franchises must pick 03 players in this category with at least one national and one international player.
• Gold and Supplementary categories are the third most expensive categories HBL PSL where the salary cap range is up to 50,000 USD which is nearly PKR. 1.5 Crore. Each of the franchises must pick 03 players in the Gold Category with at least one national and one international player. Whereas, in the supplementary category, each of the PSL franchises can select a maximum of two players with one national and one international player from either Diamond, Gold, Silver, or Emerging category from the HBL PSL Draft.
• The silver category is the fourth most expensive category of Pakistan Super League where the range of salary cap is up to 25,000 USD which is approximately over PKR. 70 lacs. Each of the PSL franchises can pick 05 players in this category.
• The emerging Category in the Pakistan Super League is reserved for young talents of national cricketers where the range salary cap of each player is 7,500 USD only which is over PKR. 20 lacs. Each of the franchises must have two young local cricketers in their roster from this category.
