Trades and Retentions Finalized by all Six PSL Franchises

Trades and Retentions finalized by all Six PSL franchises ahead of the HBL PSL Draft 2024 and the Trade windows is also closed by the PSL authorities.

Player Trades – HBL PSL 2024

A recap of all the four trades among PSL Franchises are as follows:

  • Imad Wasim traded from Karachi Kings to Islamabad United with Hassan Ali from Islamabad United to Karachi Kings.
  • Rilee Rossouw traded from Multan Sultans to Quetta Gladiators with Ifikhar Ahmed from Quetta Gladiators to Multan Sultans.
  • Naseem Shah traded from Quetta Gladiators to Islamabad United with Muhammad Wasim (Jr.) and Abrar Ahmed from Islamabad United to Quetta Gladiators.
  • Shan Masood traded from Multan Sultans to Karachi Kings with Faisal Akram from Karachi Kings to Multan Sultans.

Player Retentions – HBL PSL 2024

Trades and Retentions Finalized by all Six PSL Franchises for HBL PSL 9 2024, almost each of all the categories. Each of the six PSL franchises was allotted a maximum number of 8 players to retain. Except Multan Sultans, who retained their 7 players, all the other franchises make full use of the option and retained their 8 players ahead of the HBL PSL 9 2024. Islamabad United (IU) Player Retentions and Release

Islamabad United have retained their following 8 players:

  • Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah (Platinum Category)
  • Imad Wasim and Azam Khan (Diamond Category)
  • Alex Hales, Colin Munro and Faheem Ashraf (Gold Category) and;
  • Rumman Raees (Silver Category)

Asif Ali who was part of Islamabad United since the start of HBL PSL is now released by them and will be part of HBL PSL Player Draft 2024. Furthermore, Islamabad united named Imad Wasim as mentor, Faheem Ashraf as their Brand Ambassador and Rumman Raees with successful relegation request.

Karachi Kings (KK) Player Retentions and Release

Karachi Kings have retained their following 8 players:

  • James Vince and Hassan Ali (Diamond Category)
  • Shan Masood, Shoaib Malik and Tabraiz Shamsi (Gold Category)
  • Mir Hamza and Muhammad Akhlaq (Silver Category) and;
  • Muhammad Irfan Khan (Emerging Category)

Karachi Kings has releases Muhammad Amir, Haider Ali, Sharjeel Khan, Amir Yamin and Tayyab Tahir who will be part of HBL PSL Draft 2024. Furthermore, Karachi Kings named Shoaib Malik as mentor, Shan Masood as their Brand Ambassador and Mir Hamza with successful relegation request.

Lahore Qalandars (QG) Player Retentions and Release

Lahore Qalandars (QG) have retained their following 8 players:

  • Shaheen Shah Afridi (Platinum Category)
  • Harif Rauf and David Wiese (Diamond Category)
  • Sikandar Raza, Abdullah Shafiq and Zaman Khan (Gold Category) and;
  • Mirza Tahir Baig and Rashid Khan (Silver Category)

Lahore Qalandars has releases Fakhar Zaman, Hussain Talat, Kamran Ghulam, Dilbar Hussain and Ahmed Danial who will be part of HBL PSL Draft 2024. Fakhar Zaman can be picked by Lahore Qalandars in HBL PSL Draft again by using RTM card. Furthermore, Lahore Qalandars named Haris Rauf as their Brand Ambassador and Mirza Tahir Baig with successful relegation request.

Multan Sultans (MS) Player Retentions and Release

Multan Sultans (MS) have retained their following 7 players:

  • Muhammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed (Platinum Category)
  • Khushdil Shah and Usama Mir (Diamond Category)
  • Abbas Afrid (Gold Category)
  • Ihsanullah (Silver Category) and;
  • Faisal Akram (Emerging Category)

Multan Sultans has releases Shahnawaz Dahani, Anwar Ali and Sameen Gul who will be part of HBL PSL Draft 2024. Furthermore, Multan Sultans named Ihsanullah as their Brand Ambassador.

Peshawar Zalmi (PZ) Player Retentions and Release

Peshawar Zalmi (PZ) have retained their following 8 players:

  • Babaz Azam and Rovman Powell (Platinum Category)
  • Saim Ayoub and Tom Kohler-Cadmore (Diamond Category)
  • Muhammad Haris and Amir Jamal (Gold Category)
  • Khurram Shahzad (Silver Category) and;
  • Haseebullah Khan (Emerging Category)

Peshawar Zalmi has releases Wahab Riaz, Usman Qadir, Arshad Iqbal and Salman Irshad who will be part of HBL PSL Draft 2024. Furthermore, Peshawar Zalmi named Muhamad Haris as their Brand Ambassador.

Quetta Gladiators (QG) Player Retentions and Release

Quetta Gladiators (QG) have retained their following 8 players:

  • Rilee Rossouw (Platinum Category)
  • Muhammad Wasim (Jr.), Jason Roy and Wanindu Hasaranga (Diamond Category)
  • Muhammad Husnain, Abrar Ahmed and Sarfraz Ahmed (Gold Category) and;
  • Will Smeed (Silver Category)

Quetta Gladiator has releases Muhammad Nawaz, Umer Akmal and Muhammad Zahid who will be part of HBL PSL Draft 2024. Furthermore, Quetta Gladiators named Sarfraz Ahmed as their Brand Ambassador.

Updated Pick Orders – HBL PSL Draft 2024

After trades and retentions finalized by all six PSL franchises, Multan Sultans (MS) will now have the 1st pick in the 1st round of the Platinum Category as Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators traded Iftikhar Ahmed and Rilee Rossouw between them. 3rd round pick in Platinum Category of Quetta Gladiators also exchanged with Islamabad United’s 1st round Platinum pick as a result of Naseem Shah’s trade to Islamabad United from Quetta Gladiators with Muhammad Wasim (Jr.) and Abrar Ahmed.

Fourth round pick in Silver Category of Multan Sultans has been exchanged with first round pick in Silver Category of Karachi Kings as a result of the trade of Shan Masood from Multan Sultan with Faisal Akram of Karachi Kings. Furthermore, Islamabad United’s first round pick in Silver Category has been exchanged with second round pick in Silver Category of Karachi Kings following the trade of Karachi Kings’s Imad Wasim with Islamabad United’s Hassan Ali. Additionally, Karachi Kings (KK) and Quetta Gladiators QG) will be required to pick a local player in the Platinum category from the HBL PSL Player Draft.

As per the standard, each of the six PSL franchise will have the Right to Match (RTM) Card which will allow them to pick any player that is released from their side during the HBL PSL Draft.
