Quetta Gladiators appointed Shaun Tait as the Fast Bowling Coach

Quetta Gladiators appointed Shaun Tait as the fast bowling coach of their franchise for the upcoming season of HBL Pakistan Super League 2024. Quetta Gladiators (QG) announced this news through their social media accounts with a video message of the newly appointed fast bowling coach Shaun Tait himself.

The 40 years old former Australian right-arm fast bowler shows his gratitude through a video message stating “I would like to thank Mr. Nadeem Omer (owner of the Quetta Gladiators franchise) for trusting in me with the bowling unit including bowlers like Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Husnain and Muhammad Wasim (Jr.) who are some truly good bowlers to work with among the others, also along with Shane Watson (his country mate former al-rounder and newly appointed head coach of the franchise). He further said that he is thankful for joining the Quetta Gladiators franchise this year.

Shaun Tait Coaching Career

After he retired from all forms of cricket in March 2017, Shaun Tait started his career in the coaching field. He was named as a bowling consultant of the Afghanistan cricket team in August 2021 but at the end of the same year, he resigned from there and was appointed as the bowling coach of the Pakistan Cricket Team in February 2022 for one year. Quetta Gladiators appointed Shaun Tait as the Fast Bowling Coach for PSL 9.

The right-fast bowler Shaun Tait previously participated in the inaugural edition of the Pakistan Super League where he represented Peshawar Zalmi and made an important impact with his significant contribution with the ball. He played 9 matches in the Pakistan Super League and took 10 wickets with an average of 26.20 at a strike rate of 21.0 with an economy of 7.48. His best bowling figure in PSL was 2 wickets for 23 runs in his 4 overs against Quetta Gladiators.

Before the appointment of Shaun Tait, Quetta Gladiators appointed the former Australian al-rounder Shane Watson in place of Moin Khan who is now appointed as the Director of the Quetta Gladiators team. Moin Khan has been working as the head coach of the franchise since the start of the Pakistan Super League. Quetta Gladiators performed consistently well under Moin Khan and won the title of Pakistan Super League in 2019 and also emerged as the runners-up two times.

Quetta Gladiators was struggling to perform and has not been able to make their place in the play-offs since 2019 due to which the franchise decided to make some changes to the team and coaching staff for the upcoming HBL PSL 9 2024. Quetta Gladiators looking forward to doing something special in this HBL PSL edition 9 following the changes made by Quetta Gladiators in their squad and coaching staff.

HBL PSL 9 2024 is expected to start from February 17th, 2024 to March 17th, 2024 due to the General Election in Pakistan. PSL 9 venues are also finalized which includes Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Multan whereas the Final of the HBL PSL is expected to be played in Karachi.
