The PSL franchise, Islamabad United, finally decided on 25th November 2025 that “Islamabad United renews their agreement for another 10 years for the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 48 Cr”. IU will stay with its existing owner, Ali Naqvi, and it is mandatory to mention that IU is the most exciting & decorated team in PSL history. IU won the PSL title thrice.
PCB offered to Islamabad United to agree on the terms & conditions as mentioned & determined in the valuation report of the credible audit & advisory firm named Ernst & Young. This company conducted the audit of all six franchises and determined the market value of each franchise. The franchise has to agree with the market value, which is determined by this audit firm, before the renewal of the agreement.
It is also compulsory to mention that this exciting cricket league is well-known among the different cricket leagues because the renewal agreement accepted by the franchises shows the confidence of franchise owners in this league. Furthermore, PSL has a strong commercial strength and an increased brand value that leads this league.

The Chairman PCB, Mohsin Naqvi, shed light on this renewal and said that he is very happy with this renewal by the Islamabad United & IU will continue the journey with the PSL for another ten years. The owner of Islamabad United, Ali Naqvi, shows the dedication, strength & professionalism towards this franchise & this league. It also shows the trust towards the vision, growth & long-term potential in the PSL.

Islamabad United is the most consistent team in PSL history, that won the PSL title thrice and this team also won the inaugural edition of the Pakistan Super League. This team also has a strong cricketing culture and a strong strategic approach.
Final Thoughts: Islamabad United Renews Their Agreement for Another 10 Years
Islamabad United also renewed the agreement against the amount of 48 Cr. with the Pakistan Cricket Board for another 10 years and is the most consistent team of the PSL. The PCB management shows respect towards the IU owner and gives tribute for their work towards the Pakistan cricket & franchise.
The next season of PSL will be played from 26th March 2026 to 03rd May 2026, and it was announced by the PCB Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, at the Pakistan Super League road show in New York, United States of America. PCB is also aiming to extend the franchises from 6 to 8 franchises, and the decision will be made in January 2026. The new franchises will be selected through the auction process, and it will be completed soon.
