Categories Renewed of Local Players for PSL 10

Pakistan Super League season 10 is set to start in April 2025 in Pakistan and the player’s draft for the PSL 10 is announced to take place on 11^th January 2025. Before the players draft, all six franchises of the event finalize and announce the categories renewed of local players for PSL 10 on December 17, 2024. A total of 87 local players have been set up in 5 different categories by their respective franchises.

Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Emerging are the categories where 87 local players are placed in. 13 local cricketers are part of the Platinum Category, 16 local players are part of the Diamond Category, 30 players are part of the Gold Category, 16 players are part of the Silver Category and 12 local players are part of the Emerging categories for HBL PSL 10 2025.

Retained Category of Local Players

Categories of nine local players are retained by their respective franchises ahead of the Player’s Draft of HBL PSL 10. Babar Azam has been retained in the Platinum Category by Peshawar Zalmi (PZ), and PSL 9 champions Islamabad United (IU) has retained Shadad Khan, Imad Wasim, and Naseem Shah in the Platinum Category.

Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, and Haris Rauf are retained by the Lahore Qalandars (LQ) in the Platinum Category, whereas Muhammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed are retained in the Platinum Category by the Multan Sultans (MS).

Promoted Categories of Local Players

Categories of four local players are upgraded by their respective franchises ahead of the PSL 10 Player’s Draft. Peshawar Zalmi’s left-handed opening batter Saim Ayub, Quetta Gladiator’s left-arm fast bowler Muhammad Amir, right-hand fast bowler Hassan Ali from Karachi Kings, and leg-break bowler Usama Mir from Multan Sultans have been promoted from Diamond Category to Platinum Category for the upcoming 10^th edition of Pakistan Super League.

Peshawar Zalmi Category Renewal for PSL 10 2025

Peshawar Zalmi has revealed their category renewals for PSL 10 2025. Their prolific batter and captain Babar Azam has been retained in the Platinum Category. In contrast, Saim Ayub earned a promotion from Diamond Category to Platinum Category for PSL 10 after his brilliant performance both with bat and ball.

Wicketkeeper batter Muhammad Haris and all-rounder Amir Jamal are part of the Diamond Category. Asif Ali, Haseebullah, Khurram Shahzad, Hussain Talat, Salman Irshad, Arshad Iqbal, and Sufyan Muqeem are part of the Gold Category. Mehran Mumtaz, Asif Yaqoob and Umair Afridi are part of the Silver Category. Furthermore, the Emerging Category is shared among Muhammad Zeeshan, Aimal Khan, and Ali Raza.

Multan Sultans Category Renewal for PSL 10 2025

Multan Sultans has retained their Captain Muhammad Rizwan along with Iftikhar Ahmed in the Platinum Category. In contrast, Usama Mir has been promoted from the Diamond Category to the Platinum Category for the 10th edition of PSL 2025. Usman Khan, Khushdil Shah, Abbas Afridi, and Muhammad Ali are part of the Diamond Category.

Multan Sultan’s Gold Category includes Shahnawaz Dahani, Ihsanullah, Tayyab Tahir, and Faisal Akram. Yasir Khan and Ali Majid are part of the Silver Category whereas Aftab Ibrahim and Muhammad Shahzad added in the Emerging Category for HBL PSL 10.

Islamabad United Category Renewal for PSL 10 2025

PSL 9 champions Islamabad United has retained their captain Shadab Khan along with Naseem Shah and Imad Wasim in the Platinum Category. Salman Ali Agha and Azam Khan are included in the Diamond Category. Faheem Ashraf, Haider Ali, Ruman Raees, and Qasim Akram are part of the Gold Category. Shahab Khan is the only player for them in the Silver Category whereas Hunain Shah, Ubaid Shah, and Shamyl Hussain are sharing the Emerging Category for Islamabad United in HBL PSL-10 2025.

Quetta Gladiators Category Renewal for PSL 10 2025

Left-arm fast bowler Muhammad Amir is the only local player in the Platinum Category for Quetta Gladiators for PSL-10 who earned promotion from the Diamond Category. Sarfraz Ahmed, Saud Shakeel, Muhammad Husnain, and Abrar Ahmed are part of the Diamond Category.

Muhammad Wasim (Jr.), Usman Qadir, Umer Amin, Sohail Kha,n and Omair Bin Yousuf are included in the Gold Category. The Silver Category is shared between Bismillah Khan, Sajjad Ali (Jr.), Usman Tariq, and Khawaja Nafay whereas Adil Naz is the only local player in the Emerging Category for Quetta Gladiators for the 10th edition of Pakistan Super League 2025.

Lahore Qalandars Category Renewal for PSL 10 2025

Lahore Qalandars has retained their captain Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, and Haris Rauf in their Platinum Category for PSL 10 2025. Abdullah Shafique is the only local player in the Diamond Category whereas the Gold Category is loaded with Sahibzada Farhan, Kamran Ghulam, Zaman Khan, Mirza Tahir Baig, and Jahandad Khan. Muhammad Imran (Jr.), Ahsan Hafeez Bhatti, Salman Fayyaz, and Syed Faridoun Mehmood are part of the Silver Category. Tayyab Abbas is the only local player in the Emerging Category for Lahore Qalanders.

Karachi Kings Category Renewal for PSL 10 2025

Right-arm fast bowler Hassan Ali has been promoted to Platinum Category from the Diamond Category by Karachi Kings for HBL PSL 10 2025 who is the only local player in this category. Karachi Kings Captain Shan Masood along with senior batter Shoaib Malik and all-rounder Muhammad Nawaz are part of the Diamond Category for Karachi Kings.

The Gold Category includes Mir Hamza, Zahid Mehmood, Irfan Khan Niazi, Anwar Ali Khan, and Arafat Minhas. Muhamad Akhlaq and Muhammad Amir Khan are part of the Silver Category while Sirajuddin and Saad Baig are added to the Emerging Category by Karachi Kings for the PSL-10 2025 season.
