PSL 11 (2026): Registration Window Opens for Foreign Players

On Friday 19 December 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that the Registration Window opens for Foreign Players for PSL 11. All the overseas independent players or agents are encouraged to complete the registration from 19th December 2025 to 20th January 2026 for the upcoming 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League. The registration link is also given on the official website of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

More foreign players have a chance to participate in the league as compared to previous PSL editions, as two more franchises are going to be included from the PSL-11 2026. As the Pakistan Super League enters a historic new era of expansion, cricketing talent from around the globe is welcome to join for what promises to be the biggest PSL season yet, said PCB. With the inclusion of two new franchises in the PSL, the league has extended to 08 teams, producing significantly more roster spots and earning chances for overseas players.

The registered overseas players will be placed in the 5 available categories of players according to their profiles ahead of the PSL-11 player draft 2026. The five categories of players include Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Supplementary categories. There is also an Emerging category in the PSL, which is reserved for young local talent from Pakistan.

The Pakistan Super League was launched in 2016 with 5 teams, expanded to 6 teams in 2018, and will feature 8 teams for the first time in its 11th season, scheduled for 2026. The auction for the 02 new PSL franchises is scheduled to take place in Islamabad on Thursday, 08th January 2026, and will be broadcast live, the PCB said. Earlier, the PCB had extended the deadline for bids of the 02 new PSL franchises by a week, citing strong interest from investors in the USA, Europe, and the Middle East.

The extension of one week was announced by the Chairman of PCB, Mr. Mohsin Naqvi, on his official X account, who said the deadline of the bid had been moved to December 22, 2025, from December 15, 2025. With the upcoming extension, the Pakistan Super League will undergo its first major structural change in 08 years, officially increasing the number of franchises from 06 to 08 teams.

Earlier this week, the Pakistan Cricket Board also announced the schedule of the upcoming 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League. The 11th season of the Pakistan Super League, involving eight teams for the first time, is going to take place from 26 March 2026 to 03 May 2026 in Pakistan. Whereas the venues and schedule of the matches will be announced later.

Finally, the wait is over, and the Pakistan Cricket Board announced that they are going to open the registration window for foreign players in the Pakistan Super League 2026. All the international players have the opportunity to register themselves from December 19th, 2025, to January 20th, 2026, and the PSL players Draft 2026 will be expected to be held in February 2026. As PCB has already declared that PSL 2026 will start from March 26th, 2026.

PSL & IPL will start from the same date, and already, many foreign players have shown a preference for PSL over IPL. Big names like Faf du Plessis (South African Batter), Glenn Maxwell (Australian Aggressive Batter), Moeen Ali (English All-Rounder), and others decided not to play the Indian Premier League 2026, and some players will surely make their debut in the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League 2026, which is the biggest cricket brand of Pakistan.
