On December 20, 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed the venue for the Player’s Draft of Pakistan Super League season 10. The HBL PSL 10 2025 Player Draft to be held in Gwadar for the very first time on Saturday 11th January 2025 but the starting time of the PSL-10 Player Draft is yet to be announced by the PCB and PSL management.
The port city Gwadar is located in the Baluchistan province of Pakistan and the reason behind this decision is to promote the region’s popular sport among the people of this region of Baluchistan province. This is an exciting initiative by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) which can inspire the region’s next generation to choose cricket as their professional sport. This initiative will also help in promoting the Gwadar port city at the global level. The PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and the Chief Executive Officer of HBL PSL Salman Naseer share their thoughts while announcing Gwadar as the host for HBL PSL 10 Player Draft.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said, “Gwadar, with its strategic importance and splendid coastline, represents the core of Pakistan’s economic future. We are aiming to highlight the culture of Gwadar and its economic importance by hosting the PSL-10 Player Draft here in Gwadar while celebrating the unity that cricket brings to our nation.”
He further said, “I look forward to welcoming all the PSL franchises and its stakeholders on Saturday 11th January 2025 to the stunning city of Gwadar as we take a thrilling step towards marking the start of the 10 season of Pakistan’s biggest sporting event HBL PSL.”
Chief Executive Officer of HBL PSL Salman Naseer said, “It gives me great pride to announce Gwadar as the host city for the HBL PSL-10 Player Draft 2025. This initiative reflects our obligation to expand the reach of HBL PSL to every corner of Pakistan and showcase the beauty of Pakistan to the world. Pakistan Super League is more than a cricket league for passionate cricket fans in Pakistan, it is a carnival of Pakistan’s talent, passion, and diversity. The HBL PSL 10 player draft held in Gwadar is a step towards inspiring young cricketers from Baluchistan and other cities of the country to dream great.”
The HBL Pakistan Super League season 10 2025 will kick off in April 2025 in Pakistan. PSL is going to clash with IPL this year because of the Champions Trophy as PSL normally takes place in February. PSL management is looking forward to increasing players’ salary slabs because of the clash with the IPL and looking to grab the attention of prolific international players. Hence, the registration process of international players is on ahead of the PSL Player Draft 2025.
The Pakistan Cricket Board along with all the franchises has announced the renewal of categories of local players for PSL 10. Whereas, the relegation process of players and retention of players will also be announced by the end of December 2024.
