On Saturday 04 January 2025, player trade and retentions are announced for PSL 10 2025 by all the six franchises of Pakistan Super League ahead of the PSL 10 Player Draft which is scheduled to take place on 11th January 2025. Each of the six PSL franchises was allowed to retain a maximum of 08 players from their PSL-9 squad. Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, and Lahore Qalandars make full use of the retention limit of 8 players whereas Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, and Karachi Kings retain 7 players each.
Players Retentions for HBL PSL 10 2025
Player retentions for HBL PSL season 10 2025 have been finalized and announced by all six PSL franchises, covering almost all player categories. The complete details of player retentions by all the six PSL franchises ahead of the Pakistan Super League Player Draft for season 10 are here below:
Islamabad United (IU) Player Retentions
Current and 3 times overall PSL champions Islamabad United have retained their following 8 players ahead of the PSL-10 player draft:
- Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah in the Platinum Category
- Imad Wasim and Azam Khan in Diamond Category
- Salman Ali Agha and Haider Ali in the Gold Category, and;
- Colin Munro and Rumman Raees in the Silver Category
Islamabad United did not retain any player in the Emerging Category. Moreover, Islamabad United named Imad Wasim as its Mentor, Salman Ali Agha as its Brand Ambassador, and Rumman Raees with a successful relegation request.
Multan Sultans (MS) Player Retentions
The runner-up of the PSL 9 2024 and the PSL 6 2021 champions Multan Sultans (MS) have retained the following 7 players ahead of the PSL 10 player draft:
- Muhammad Rizwan and Usaman Mir in the Platinum Category
- Iftikhar Ahmed, David Willey, and Usman Khan in the Diamond Category
- Chris Jordan in the Gold Category
- Faisal Akram in the Silver Category
Multan Sultans did not retain any player in the Emerging Category. Furthermore, Multan Sultans named David Willey as their Mentor, Iftikhar Ahmed as their Brand Ambassador, and Faisal Akram with a successful category relegation request.
Peshawar Zalmi (PZ) Player Retentions
The 2017 PLS-2 champions Peshawar Zalmi (PZ) have retained the following 7 players ahead of the player draft for PSL 10 2025:
- Babaz Azam and Saim Ayub in the Platinum Category
- Muhammad Haris in Diamond Category
- Sufyan Moqim, Mehran Mumtaz, and Arif Yaqoob in Silver Category and;
- Ali Raza in Emerging Category
Peshawar Zalmi did not retain any player in the Gold Category. Furthermore, Peshawar Zalmi named Sufyan Moqim as their Brand Ambassador.
Quetta Gladiators (QG) Player Retentions
The PSL-4 2019 champions Quetta Gladiators (QG) have retained the following 8 players ahead of the Pakistan Super League player draft 2025:
- Rilee Rossouw, Muhammad Amir, and Abrar Ahmed in the Diamond Category
- Saud Shakeel, Muhammad Wasim (Jr.) and Akeal Hosein Gold Category
- Khawaja Nafay and Usman Tariq in the Silver Category
Quetta Gladiators did not retain any player in the Platinum and Emerging Category. Furthermore, Quetta Gladiators named Muhammad Amir as their Mentor and Saud Shakeel as their Brand Ambassador for PSL 10 2025.
Karachi Kings (KK) Player Retentions
The PSL-5 2020 season champions Karachi Kings have retained the following 7 players ahead of the 2025 PSL 10 player draft:
- Hassan Ali and James Vince in the Diamond Category
- Shan Masood and Irfan Khan Niazi in Gold Category
- Arafat Minhas, Zahid Mehmood, and Tim Sifert in the Silver Category
Karachi Kings did not retain any player in their Platinum and Emerging Category. Moreover, Karachi Kings named Arafat Minhas as their Brand Ambassador whereas Shan Masood, Hassan Ali, and Zahid Mehmood with successful relegation requests for PSL-10.
Lahore Qalandars (QG) Player Retentions
The two times PSL champions in 2022 and 2023, Lahore Qalandars have retained the following 8 players ahead of the player draft for HBL PSL 2025:
- Shaheen Shah Afridi and Fakhar Zaman in the Platinum Category
- Harif Rauf and Sikandar Raza in Diamond Category
- Abdullah Shafiq, Zaman Khan, and Jahandad Khan in Gold Category
- David Wiese in Silver Category
Lahore Qalandars did not retain any player in the Emerging Category. Furthermore, Lahore Qalandars named Haris Rauf as their Brand Ambassador and Abdullah Shafique with a successful relegation request.
Player Trades for HBL PSL 10 2025
There are no player trades taking place for the upcoming 10 edition of HBL Pakistan Super League 2025.
Successful Relegation Requests in PSL 10
Four PSL franchises including Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, and Lahore Qalandars have requested Pakistan Super League management for the relegation in categories of their players which is successfully done by PSL authority ahead of the PSL 10 Player Draft 2025. The details of the successful relegation requests are below:
- The category of Rumman Raees from Islamabad United is relegated successfully from the Gold Category to the Silver Category.
- The category of Lahore Qalandars’ Abdullah Shafique is relegated successfully from the Diamond Category to the Gold Category.
- The category of Faisal Akram from Multan Sultans is relegated successfully from Gold Category to the Silver Category.
- The categories of Hassan Ali, Shan Masood, and Zahid Mehmood from Karachi Kings are successfully relegated from Platinum to Diamond, Diamond to Gold, and Gold to Silver Category respectively.
Player Trade and Retentions are announced for PSL 10 2025 by the Pakistan Cricket Board along with the number of international cricketers registered for this PSL season. A total of 510 cricketers from 19 countries are registered for the player draft of the 10th edition of Pakistan Super League 2025.
