PCB announced PSL 10 Player Draft Revised Pick Order

On Wednesday 08^th January 2024, PCB announced PSL 10 Player Draft revised Pick Order for all the six franchises of all six categories after the finalization of the player retention list by the franchises. The pick order of the 1st round of the platinum category of the PSL 10 player draft 2025 is organized in reverse order according to the standings of the team in the 9^th edition of HBL PSL 2024.

In the initial pick order of PSL 10 players draft, there were three rounds each for Platinum, Diamond, and Gold categories which is now reduced to two rounds for Platinum, one round for Diamond, and two rounds for Gold Category. Accordingly, there were initially 5 rounds for the Silver Category which is now reduced to three rounds. In contrast, the number of rounds of Emerging and Supplementary categories is the same as initially announced i.e. two rounds & four rounds respectively.

As per PSL 09 points table standings, the sixth-placed Lahore Qalandars will have the first pick and the 5^th placed Karachi Kings will have the second pick in the 1^st round of the platinum category of PSL-10 player draft 2025. Accordingly, the 3^rd & 4^th picks of the first round in the Platinum category will be done by Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi as they finished their campaign at third and fourth spot in the PSL-9 points table respectively.

The runner-up of the HBL PSL-9 2024 Multan Sultans will have the 5^th pick in the first round of the Platinum category, whereas the winner of the HBL PSL-9 2024 Islamabad United will have the 6^th and last pick in the first round of the Platinum category of the PSL-10 player draft 2025.

First Pick in the First round of each category for each Franchise

The PSL management has placed each of the six franchises to grab the first pick in the first round of each of the six categories of the player draft in order to make the PSL-10 Player Draft Pick Order equitable and fairer. Hence:

• Platinum Category’s 1^st pick in the first round will be taken by the Lahore Qalandars in the player draft of PSL 10.
• Diamond Category’s 1^st pick in the first round of the PSL-10 player draft 2025 will be taken by Karachi Kings.
• Gold Category’s 1^st pick in the first round of the 10^th edition of the PSL player draft will be taken by Peshawar Zalmi.
• Silver Category’s 1^st pick in the first round of the player draft 2025 will be taken by Multan Sultans.
• Emerging Category’s 1^st pick in the first round of the 2025 PSL player draft is occupied by the Quetta Gladiators.
• Supplementary Category’s 1^st pick in the first round will be taken by the defending champion Islamabad United in the PSL 10 Player Draft.

The above table shows the revised pick orders according to each franchise in each category of each round of the PSL 10 player draft 2025. The PSL player draft covers all the categories according to the player’s skill set and ability i.e. Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, Emerging, and Supplementary Categories. The registration window of overseas players for player draft of PSL 10 is now closed and 510 cricket players from 19 different counties have registered for the PSL 10 Player Draft 2025.

Captain, coaches, and management of all the franchises will make their calculations, meetings, and discussions to grab the players from the PSL player draft 2025 to strengthen the combination of their team to compete with other franchises of the Pakistan Super League.

The Player Draft for PSL-10 2025 is announced to take place on January 11, 2025, in Hazoori Bagh, Lahore Fort, Lahore. The aim of HBL PSL Draft is to shape up the squad of all franchises where the availability of cricketers is also considered by the franchises before picking them in their squad. The sparkling T20 tournament HBL PSL 10 2025 will start from 8^th April 2025 to 19^th May 2025 in Pakistan.
